ME!
Cydney Cooper is a multi skilled journalist at WDTV Channel 5 News in Bridgeport, West Virginia.
Cydney started her professional broadcast journalism career in the Mountain State, where she was hired as an multimedia journalist in September of 2015. She was soon promoted to the position of Anchor/ Reporter, and is now the Lead Anchor/ Producer for the Daybreak and West Virginia Midday newscasts.
A true Nittany Lion at heart, Cydney graduated from Penn State University in May 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations. Her passion for Media and Communications led her to Point Park University where she completed a dual-degree program, receiving a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Journalism & Mass Communications in April 2015.
During her time in North Central West Virginia, Cydney has received several honors recognizing her work and commitment to the community she serves, the most recent being the 2017 Best AM Newscast Award presented by the West Virginia Broadcaster's Association. She was also recognized as a 2017 Woman of Distinction by the Progressive Women’s Association, West Virginia Chapter.
